Chapter 3: Alexander, the responsible older brother!
…..................................................................................................................................................................
“Dammit!” A familiar voice called out.

It was hazy, not much could be seen besides the silhouettes two people fighting in this barren wasteland. The ground was covered in blood and a woman laid face down near the fighting.

“Aaah!”

The same voice yelled out in desperation. The sound of swords clashing filled the area. Suddenly they separate, just feet away from each other. Then a powerful light covered one of the fighters, it swirled up  to the sky and his body briefly became clear. It wasn't human.

…..................................................................................................................................................................

“Alexander!”

A voice called out amidst the darkness, hazy light flooded in and a sudden pain radiated from all over.

“Alex!”

The voice called again, this time even louder.

“Wah!?”

Alexander quickly sat up in his bed with a start. Heart racing and eyes wide he looked around his room only to notice his sister Kana standing at the door way of his room.

“Hm, Kana? What the heck? Why were you yelling at me?” Alex questioned his little sister with a drowsy voice.

“Because, you were sleeping in again, I thought you need to wake up,” Kana said with a innocent yet slightly devious smile.

“I told her not to,” Takahiro said as he entered the room behind Kana.

Alex looked at the 5 foot tall wolf man with a curious gaze. Takahiro was still wearing his slightly bloodied clothes from the fight yesterday, but, that's not what's on Alexander's mind. Yesterday, that fight, and now that dream.

“Hm, what?” Takahiro asked.

“Nothing,” Alex said as he shook his had.

After waking up Alex changed clothes, made his bed then went to the living room were Kana was talking to Takahiro about her school. He seemed like he was enjoying her explanation about how her school works, he had a calm and kind smile on his face. As soon as Alex stepped foot in the living room Takahiro's ears perked up and looked towards the living room entrance.

“Good morning Alex,” He said in an almost cheerful tone.

“Alex!” Kana called out.

“Guess what? My club's meeting will be here today, isn't that awesome?”

“What? But today's my errand day, you know that, you should have told me when it was decided,” Alex said with a somewhat disappointed tone of voice.

“Now I have to figure out how to do this,”

Alex crossed his arms and started thinking, then like a brick hitting his head he got an idea.

“Hey Hiro?”

Like he already knew the words Takahiro looked away and started twiddling his fingers.

“Uh, I'm supposed to stay with you, I can't ignore that responsibility,”

“Actually, the art teacher volunteered to watch over us,” Kana chimed in.

Takahiro sighed in relief.

“What do you do on an errand day anyways?” Takahiro asked.

“Hm, well today I need to pick up a book from the library and later I need to get you some new clothes-”

“Wha, new clothes?” Takahiro interrupted.

“Well, yeah, you can't just wear the same thing over and over again,” Alex explained.

“Oh and I need to do some shopping later on, it's less crowded that way, now all I need to do is remember how to calculate Yen, that shouldn't be to hard,”

Alex went on as he walked to the from door of his house.

“You coming Hiro?”

Takahiro quickly stood up and walked to the door.

“Remember the rules, no answering the door or phone unless it's someone you know, alright,”

“Yes sir!” Kana said, saluting Alex.

Katsumata school library.

“Alright, time to walk the maze of books,” Alex said with a regretful sigh.

The library was huge, it almost looked to be the size of a public library. It was filled with old style chairs and desks, it makes the modern computers look out of place. It was also quiet too, since it was Sunday no one was going to be in the library, except, there seemed to be someone here.

“Hm?”

Alex could see a green haired girl looking at the books, maybe finding something that interests her?

“Um, hello,” Alex called to the girl.

She turned towards him, she looked American.

<Hm, let me try something> He thought.

“Hey, do you volunteer here?” Alex asked the girl in English.

Her crystal clear green eyes grew wide and her mouth hung open slightly.

“No way...” She said.

“You speak English! That's great!”

Alex was a little taken aback by her sudden enthusiasm. She ran up to Alex and grabbed his hand, her eyes sparkling.

“Now I don't have to use my broken Japanese, I'm so bad at it,”

Alex was literally stripped of his words, this random girl just exploded into a fit of excitement, what's he supposed to do. He dug down deep to find any amount of words that would work.

“Uh, I could teach you,” He said.

Her eyes got wider with excitement, Alex started to worry that they may pop out.

“Awesome, now I can actually quit those stupid introductory classes, thank you, um,”

“Alexander Evans,” He said.

“Ooh, pretty, my name's Kitty Kuro, nice to meet you!” She said.

She showed her hand to Alex and he sighed.

“Nice to meet you too,” He said as they shook hands.

Norishita shopping district, clothing store.

“That should do it,” Alex said as he dropped a pile of clothes on to the counter.

“He said all he wanted were sleeveless shirts,”

“That will be 14559.04 Yen,” The cashier said.

“Wha! That's almost 150 dollars,” Alex said with a start.

He hung his head and reluctantly paid the charge.

<I hope Mom and Dad don't ask where all of that money went,> He thought.

Evans house hold.

Alex and Takahiro walk in through the front door to a, slightly different house.

“What in tha-”

Alex stopped and dropped the shopping bags. The once clean, if not a little cluttered house was now a mess with Kana standing in the middle of it.

“I'm sorry Alex,” Kana said in a sincere tone of voice.

“I'm never leaving you home alone again,” Alex said with a sigh.

“Beep, beep, beep,”

Alexander's phone randomly starts ringing making Takahiro wince in pain.

<It hurts his ears?>

Alex quickly ran to the phone and answered it.

“Hello?”

“Alex?” Said Cecil over the phone.

“Mom?” Alex said surprised

“Yeah, sorry a called so late, I know you made today you errand day, so I waited for a while but got side tracked,” Cecil said.

“How is everything?”

“Um, we're doing great, I met some, odd friends, but everything's alright, how's work going?” Alex said as he looked through the living room.

“Oh! Almost forgot, We made some huge progress, they said that your father and I could go ahead and start work at the Duodecim in 5 months instead of 7,” Cecil said with excitement.

“That's great,” Alex said.

“Oh, and how's your sister?”

“She's been okay,” Alex said as he looked at Kana who was playing with Takahiro's tail as he sat next to her.

“That's good, anyways, I have to go, I'll talk to you later, okay,” Cecil said in an almost sad tone of voice.

“Okay, see you later,”

They both hung up and Alex looked at Kana.

<It's still to long...>
Woo, another chapter, this ones a tad sloppy, I plan on fixing all of them for the flash novel, but now that I'm done with this I can finally start writing the main story instead of rewriting it, "sigh" I'm just getting sick of my sloppy writing, I need to work on it, anyways, enjoy and please comment.
