TAOTW Side story Alexander Evans!

“Alex, Kana!” Cecil called.

Quickly the two siblings walked in to the living room of their large American house with quizzical looks on their faces. Cecil and Kane stood side by side, they had something very important to say.

“Okay, I just got a call from the Duodecim, they liked mine and Kane's work at the Tredecim, so they offered us a job there,” Cecil said gleefully.

Alex and Kana looked at each other in unison.

“The science facility in Norishita Japan?” Alex asked even though he knew the answer.

“Yep,” Kane answered with the same amount of excitement that Cecil has.

“The crown jewel of the world, a city built on a mysterious island that, to this day no one know that much about, the 12th member of the Genesis had the city built, ah, the Duodecim, the 12th step of advancement, in other words technology heaven,”

Kane has always been a fan of technology, to obsessive levels filling up the Evans' house hold in new technology, he's the epitome of a modernist.

“He was more excited than me,” Cecil said with a small laugh.

“Anyways, we wanted to ask you, would you be okay with moving to Japan?”

The whole world froze in Alexander's mind.

<Okay with it? With uprooting our lives,> Alex thought.

He looked over to Kana who had a blank expression on her face.

<I'm more worried about Kana, but, Mom and Dad seem happy,>

“Sure,” Alex said quickly.

Kana's blank expression changed.

“Yeah...”

Kana follows Alex, she trusts him to make the right decision. There has to be a reason why he said yes, and she's sure it's a good reason.

“Great,” Cecil said with a smile.

“We can start looking for a house and getting ready soon,”




6 months later.

“Yes, I understand, thank you good bye,”

Cecil hung up and put her phone away. She rubbed her face with her hands and sighed.

“What's wrong?” Kane asked as he enters the room.

“It's the Tredecim, they used my research and made a breakthrough, they need my help for at least 7 or 8 months, they put the Duodecim thing on hold,” Cecil answered with a grim expression.

“What do we tell Alex and Kana?” Kane asked.

“We need to tell them that everything's already set up for Japan, we bought the house, shipped most of our things, we have no other choice,”

Cecil stood up and walked towards the door.




The following morning.

“So, we thought that you two should have a head start, we already shipped some of our things, everything's just about ready, are you okay with this?” Cecil asked.

Alex froze again, kinda like a defense mechanism so he can think things through.

<Why do they keep asking that? This time it's worse, we'll be without them, that's not okay. But,  they put thought into this, they cared enough, ARGH, fine, the answer will be the same,>

“Of course,” Alex said.

“After all, it is a good idea to get a head start,”

Cecil smiled, she seemed worried but Alexander's words, regardless of how real they were, were what she needed to hear.
