Chapter 1: The transfer student Alexander Evans!

“Good morning class,”

Mitsuo Akiyama, teacher of class 3-B at Katsumata Academy greeted his class with the usual <Good morning> as he entered. Like a well choreographed cue almost every student in class took their seats and payed diligent attention to their teacher.

“Today we have a transfer student from America, I would like you all to show him the most respect you can, Alexander, you can come in now,”

In walks a young man wearing Katsumata's signature male uniform, a white shirt underneath a gray coat with gray pants, the coat has blue accents on it, one of which resembling a tie that's colored based off their class number, Green for 1st years, Red for 2nd years and Blue for 3rd years. Alexander walked up the Mitsuo's desk and stood up straight with his arms to his side.

“Alexander Evans, nice to meet you,” He said.

Alex was trying to keep any sign of nervousness from surfacing. He understood 80% of the Japanese language so the introductory classes required of a transfer student weren't needed. The task now was to keep his nerves in check so he doesn't forget the Japanese that he knows.

“Anyone want to take Alexander on a tour?” Mitsuo asked the class.

Mitsuo scanned the class for any volunteers when he notices a blond haired student resting her head on her desk. With a disappointed expression Mitsuo opens his desk drawer and pulls out a hand made sling shot and a small piece of foam. He aims at the student and pulls back then lets go.

*Thwap*

With a start the student sits up straight and quickly looks around the room.

“What!”

“Since you found this class so interesting, why Don't you take Alexander on that tour,” Mitsuo said.

<Great, I'm a punishment,> Alex thought.

“You can take a seat next to her,”

Mitsuo gestured to a desk sitting to the right of the student. Alex hesitates for a minute, maybe trying to process this, then walks towards the desk.

“Sorry 'bout that,” the student said with a smile.

“Mitsuki Kamaya, nice to meet you,”

“Nice to meet you too,” Alex said, nodding his head once with a smile.

*Ding, Dong, Ding*

Three loud bells sound off throughout the school, signaling lunch time. Akiyama dismissed the class and most of the students immediately left class.

“Ah, now we can take that tour,” Mitsuki said.

She stretched her arms, gave a big yawn then stood up.

“Ready?” Mitsuki asked.

Alex nodded once then stood up.

“Yeah,”

“And the lunch room!” Mitsuki said with an excited tone.

Mitsuki walked Alex through the school top to bottom in record time, leaving Alex in a state of pure exhaustion.

“Huff, did we have to see so much in such a short amount of time?” Alex said with a wheezy voice.

“Of course, now you get to meet my friends,”

Mitsuki reached over and grabbed Alexander's arm and pulled him in. The both came up to a lunch table where two students were sitting. A guy with short brown hair and blue eyes sitting at the far right, a girl with long black hair and amber eyes sitting next to him.

“Alright everyone, this is-”

“Alexander Evans?” The brown haired student interrupted Mitsuki.

“Wha- hey Akihiko, you ruined my introduction!” Mitsuki yelled at the brown haired student.

He scoffed at her then looked at Alex.

“My name's Akihiko Fujioka, nice to meet you,”

“You know how to ruin a perfectly good introduction,” Mitsuki continued.

“Well, I'm in your class, I already knew who he was, it's no mystery,”

Mitsuki gave Akihiko a scornful expression and Akihiko gave her a wry smile.

“Sarah Inoue, nice to meet you,” The black haired girl said.

She looked very prim and proper, holding her hands together on the table and looking at Alex with a very kind expression. Her hair was tied back into a pony tail with some strands hanging to the side, she looked almost like a perfect work of art sitting there.

“Let's just sit down...” Mitsuki said with a sigh.

Mitsuki sat opposite of Sarah and Alexander followed, sitting next to Mitsuki.

“Are you enjoying your stay here?” Sarah asked.

“Yeah, I am, thanks,” Alex answered with a smile.

Mitsuki clears her throat and puts both hands on the table. Taking that as a signal Akihiko moved forward to Alex.

“Let's leave before she makes this a bid deal,”

Mitsuki looked back at Akihiko with a look that could drill holes through him.

“Right, forgot, you can't take a joke, sorry,” Akihiko said with a sigh.

Mitsuki then cleared her throat again.

“Let's welcome Alexander Evans, our new classmate!” Mitsuki sounded off so loud that it echoed.

“And this is why we don't let you do speeches,” Akihiko said.

<Well, at least with them things won't get boring,> Alex thought.

“There, done,” Alex said.

School was over and class was dismissed. Mitsuki, Sarah, Akihiko and Alex walked to the front of the school and traded phone numbers.

“Perfect, now we can call each other whenever!” Mitsuki said with excitement.

“Oh crap!” Alex said.

Alex glance at his phone and noticed that it was 4:10PM.

“I've gotta go, I'll see you guys on Monday!”

Alex ran off from the school and yelled from the streets.

<I'm gonna be late getting home!> He thought.

“I can't be late,” Alex said as he ran through the streets of his neighborhood.

His legs started to ache because he had been running since the Shopping district and just now made it to the First district. Alex slowed down to a complete stop and hunched over to catch his breath. He stood back up straight and looked up towards the sky.

“Huh?”

The blue sky looked strange, the clouds above Alex were swirling in a clockwise motion.

“Again?”

This has happened twice, two weeks ago when Alex first moved into town, and now, yet no one notices it but him. Soon the clouds stopped spinning and went back to normal. Now that Alexander's attention was brought back to the ground he started hearing a very noticeable sound from behind him, like someone was walking towards him. With a quick motion Alex span 180 degrees to see who was behind him. A young man who didn't look that much older than Alex. Because most of the people in Norishita work or go to school, at this moment in time Alex and this young man are the only two people here.

Alex looked at the man who had stopped just feet away from Alex. Then Alex broke into a cold sweat, his eyes started to hurt and his right arm sent shooting pains through his body.

“Agh!”

Alex grabbed and right bicep tightly and winced from the pain. He slowly opened his eyes to look at the young man in front of him. Now he was covered in red smoke that kept pulsating almost like a heartbeat. In a moment of shock Alex stepped back.

“Who are you?...” Alex asked, but received no reply.

Instead the young man raised his right hand and a circle appeared in front of it. Inscribed with an odd text and various symbols that Alex couldn't make out. With a shattering sound bits and pieces of the earth rose up out of the ground and begun to float near the young man.

“What the hell!”

Alex stepped back even further. Letting common sense take over his span another 180 degrees and ran away.

<Crap, crap, crap, what's going on!> Alex thought.

He could hear a crashing sound from behind him but didn't look back.

<How is he doing that!? Is he trying to kill me!?>

In Alexander's panic he missed the curb of the side walk and tripped. He tried not to fall and instead righted himself but turned to his attacker who was once again just feet away. The man pulled off the same trick of rising pieces of the ground again.

<Crap I can't move! Why!? Is this what that type of fear feels like? Death, like I'm going to die!?>

With a single motion his attacker fired the pieces of stone and concrete at Alexander, realizing that he has lost the will to move, he stands still, and shuts his eyes closed tight. With the roar of an explosion and huge burst of smoke covers Alexander.

Already excepting the victory Alexander's attacker turned away and walked off from the pile of smoke that covers Alexander.

“Huh,”

With a shocked expression the man turned towards the smoke and watched as was being blown away. Alexander's silhouette appeared in the smoke, but something else was standing in front of him.

“Interesting,” The man said.

With one final gust of wind the smoke was cleared from Alex. He slowly opened his eyes and looked forward.

“Wha-”

The person standing before Alex was not human, it stood up like a human and had a human like physical appearance but, it had a wolf's head, the snout, ears, everything and it also had a long wolfs tail, and was covered in hair like an animal. It was wearing a sleeveless Chinese martial arts shirt and long pants to go with it.

It was holding a sword and stood in a defensive stance. Whatever this creature was, it saved Alexander's life.
